Villeroy & Boch Pistons to Suit Subway & Loop Toilet Seats

Beige/White Plastic Ends: These pistons are the perfect fit. They are designed by Haro for the 98M9C101 (Subway) and 9M38S101 (O.novo) seats.
Metal Ends: These pistons will not fit. If your hinges have metal ends, your seat is the discontinued pre-2008 model. You have two choices:

Replace the entire seat with the modern 98M9C101 Subway Seat.
Just replace the hinge mechanism using the Pre-2008 Hinge Kit.

Genuine Haro Spare Parts for Villeroy & Boch If your Villeroy & Boch Subway or O.novo seat has started slamming or no longer stays upright, the internal hydraulic dampers (pistons) have failed. This kit allows you to replace only the moving parts, saving you the cost of a full seat.

Installation Guide:

Left & Right Specific: The pistons are side-specific to control the descent of the seat and lid. Please refer to the included instructions to ensure they are installed on the correct side.
Lubricant Included: Each kit comes with a specialized lubricant. Apply this to the piston body to allow it to slide smoothly into the seat housing.
Easy DIY: These are “pull-out, push-in” components. No complex tools are required to swap them once the seat is removed from the pan.

Q: Can I just buy one side?
A: No. Soft-close pistons should always be replaced as a pair. If one has failed, the other is usually under extra stress and will fail shortly after. Our kit includes both the Left and Right dampers.

Q: How do I get the old ones out?
A: Once the seat is removed and the hinge covers are off, the pistons can be pulled out of the seat’s lateral housing. If they are stuck, a pair of needle-nose pliers can help grip the plastic end.

Q: Do these fit the Subway 2.0?
A: Yes, provided your Subway 2.0 seat (98M9C101) uses the beige plastic-ended hinges.
