Identify your Geberit Valve (222.011.00.5): This is the most common inlet valve for European suites in Australia. It is easily identified by the 3/8″ (10mm) brass threaded nipple.
Important Compatibility Check:
Standard Fit: Perfect for Villeroy & Boch, Parisi, Duravit, and Laufen. The brass tail is removable if you have a clip-in Geberit hose.
The Caroma Exception: If your toilet is a Caroma and the hose “locks” onto the valve without a screw thread (Part 687171), this valve will not work.
Water Wafer: This does not replace the proprietary 405041 Water Wafer valve
Genuine Geberit 222.011.00.5 Spare Part The Type 380 (Unifill) is famous for its modular design. The 222.011.00.5 comes standard with a brass nipple, but it is actually a 2-in-1 valve:
For Threaded Hoses: Leave the brass nipple in place and screw your 10mm hose directly onto it.
For Geberit Flexi-Hoses: Unscrew the large white nut, pull the brass nipple out, and click your white-tipped Geberit hose directly into the valve body.
When to Replace: If your cistern is whistling, taking more than 60 seconds to refill, or overfilling into the overflow pipe, the internal seals in your 222.011.00.5 have likely failed.
Q: Is 222.011.00.5 the same as my old grey valve?
A: Yes. Geberit updated the plastics to the current Blue/White/Grey aesthetic, but the fitment and the 3/8″ brass thread remain the same.
Q: Can I just buy the washer instead of the whole 222.011.00.5 valve?
A: Yes, if the plastic body of your valve is in good condition, you can often fix the issue with the Type 380 Diaphragm Seal. However, if the valve is over 10 years old, a full replacement is recommended.
Q: Why won’t this fit my Caroma?
A: Caroma uses a specific version of this valve that lacks the screw thread. Even though it looks identical, the hose connection is a “bayonet” style lock. For Caroma, you need part 687171.
