Villeroy & Boch: Ceramic kitchen sinks for the future

Villeroy & Boch ceramic kitchen sinks merge innovation with classic kitchen design. People commonly ask questions about ceramic sinks and have obvious concerns that we previously shared on the longevity of ceramic in the kitchen. Below, we will explore why the concerns surround ceramic kitchen sinks are not only false, but are actually preventing people from having a fantastic product in their kitchen.

The Material

TitanCeram is a material designed by Villeroy & Boch to strengthen the bond between the ceramic particles to ensure a durable and strong material. This new ceramic material has allowed ceramic kitchen sink rims to be smaller and thinner in design to create a more modern style. A lot of people worry about ceramic kitchen sinks chipping over time. When I was in Germany I watched a guy throw a saucepan into the pan from 3 metres away and it didn’t chip. He allowed me to bang a 50 cent coin on the bench 15 times and run a knife back and forth over the surface. The knife barely left a mark and the coin made no indentation on the product at all. In fact, stainless steel would have left much larger scratch marks from the knife and the coin would have created imperfections as stainless steel sinks are quite thin. The material is also finished with CeramicPlus which ensures acids from cleaning materials doesn’t effect the integrity of the material. It also allows you to place hot pots, baking dishes or oven trays on the ceramic sinks with complete peace of mind. One of the owners sons has a Villeroy & Boch undercounter sink and it brings such a warmth to the kitchen that can’t be replicated by other products. The flexibility in design options are numerous with the below options:
