Valsir Tropea 2 Outlet Valve

Is this the correct valve for your wall-hung toilet? The Tropea2 is the standard-height workhorse for Valsir, Hideaway, and Meco cisterns. You can identify it by these unique features:

  • The Rubber Tube: Unlike the chunky Evolut valve, the Tropea2 has a black rubber tube in the middle. This allows the valve to “bend” so it can be easily removed through the flush plate hole.

  • The Water Connection: Look for the internal flexible hose with two brass “zig-zag” ends. This is a unique Valsir design and a 100% confirmation of the model.

  • Vertical Wall Only: This valve is only used when the flush plate is mounted on a vertical wall (front pressing), never on top of a shelf.

Genuine Valsir Spare Part — Exclusive Australian Source The Tropea2 is a highly adaptable valve. Because it can be used in both Mechanical (rod-driven) and Pneumatic (blue and white hose-driven) setups, it is sold as the valve unit alone.

Configuration Options:

  • Mechanical Setup: Uses the valve as-is, connected to the internal bridge.

  • Pneumatic Setup: Requires the VS0866163 Pneumatic Mechanism to be clipped onto the top. If your buttons have hoses, we recommend replacing the mechanism at the same time as the valve for a total cistern refresh.

Why replace your Tropea2 Valve? As the exclusive Australian dealer, we see two main reasons for replacement:

  1. Constant Leaking: If water is trickling into the bowl, the base seal or the valve body itself has likely perished.

  2. Flush Failures: If the valve is no longer lifting correctly, the internal structure may be compromised.

  • Q: My old valve doesn’t look exactly like this. Will it fit?

    • A: As the Exclusive Australian Dealer, we stock the latest factory-upgraded version of the Tropea2. It is designed to be backwards compatible with all older Tropea2 suites branded Hideaway or Meco.

  • Q: Do I need to buy the blue and white hoses separately?

    • A: This listing is for the valve only. If your pneumatic mechanism is working, you can clip it onto this new valve. If your buttons aren’t engaging, you should also purchase the VS0866163 Pneumatic Lifter.

  • Q: Why is there a rubber tube in the middle of the valve?

    • A: This is a genius design feature from Valsir Italy. It allows the valve to flex, making it possible to pull it out through the narrow opening behind the flush plate without damaging the cistern.

RECOMMENDED UPGRADE: > Instead of replacing your old valve, we highly recommend the Tropea 3 Transformation Kit. It is a superior, long-lasting design that moves the mechanical parts out of the water to prevent future failures. Valsir Tropea 2 Outlet Valve replaces the outlet valve in the Tropea 2 Cisterns only. The easiest way to identify if this is the one for you is if the toilet seat does NOT cover the button and the cistern is relatively narrow (difficult to put the hand inside). Also, the black flexible component in the middle which can be different colours is also a sign that you have a Tropea. The outlet valve is usually replaced along with the pneuamtic mechanism when the flush does not work properly.
