Is your original Water Wafer button plate failing? If your flush buttons are sticking, leaking air, or failing to trigger the flush, this 405178 Seal Kit is your final option for a repair.
-
The Situation: Caroma has discontinued the original full button assemblies. This kit allows you to refresh the internal seals to extend the life of your current plate.
-
The “Next Step” Warning: If this seal kit does not fix the issue, your original plate is likely beyond repair. You will then need to upgrade to the Caroma Water Wafer Compact Panel Replacement Pack.
Genuine Caroma Factory Spare — Part No. 405178 Pneumatic buttons rely on a perfect air seal to function. Over time, the internal rubber seals in the Mk3 and original Invisi buttons perish, causing air to hiss out rather than travel down the tubes to the cistern.
The “Complete Service” Recommendation: A “sticky” button that won’t return to its original position is rarely caused by just one part. It is usually a combination of the seals at the wall and the bellows at the cistern.
-
Replace the Bellows: We strongly suggest replacing the Caroma Slave Bellows at the same time as this seal kit.
-
Why? If the bellows in the cistern have lost their “spring-back” ability, the buttons at the wall will stay pushed in, even if your seals are brand new. Replacing both ensures a crisp, reliable flush.

Q: Will this kit make my buttons “springy” again?
-
A: This kit fixes air leaks. If the buttons are physically stuck and won’t pop back out, you almost certainly need to replace the Slave Bellows as well.
-
-
Q: Can I buy the whole button plate anymore?
-
A: No, the original assemblies are discontinued. This seal kit is the only way to repair the original style. If this fails, a complete upgrade to the new-style panel is required.
-
-
Q: How do I know if I have an “Original” Invisi?
-
A: Original Invisi and Water Wafer systems use the large, aqua-blue pneumatic tubing. If your tubes are thin and clear or black, you have a newer Invisi Series II.
