Has your Seal Kit repair failed? If you have already tried the 405178 Seal Kit and your buttons are still sticking or failing to engage the flush, your original button assembly is beyond repair.

This Replacement Pack is your final option. It allows you to replace the old, discontinued internal button mechanisms with the modern Caroma Compact series.

Please read before purchasing: The modern buttons in this kit have a larger diameter than the original 1990s/2000s buttons. To install this kit, you have two choices:

1. The Professional Way: Install the new Compact Panel included in this pack. Ensure your current wall opening can accommodate the new plate dimensions.

2. The “Last Resort” Modification: If you must keep your original stainless steel plate, you will need to manually cut/enlarge the holes in your existing plate to fit the new button diameters.

   • Risk Note: This requires high technical skill and specialized tools for cutting stainless steel. There is a high risk of damaging the plate or leaving sharp, uneven edges.

• Q: Why can’t I just buy the old buttons?

  • A: Caroma has officially discontinued the original button assemblies. This kit is the modern engineering solution to keep those legacy cisterns working.

• Q: Will the new plate cover the old hole in my wall?

  • A: Usually, yes, but you should measure your current wall opening. The new plate is designed to be a “compact” footprint.

• Q: My buttons are stuck “in”—will this fix it?

  • A: This kit replaces the button mechanism. However, if the Slave Bellows in the cistern are also perished, the buttons still won’t “spring” back. We always suggest replacing both for 20-year-old toilets.
